Happy Monday!

I am lucky enough to have my Momma in town, so we spent a few special hours together this weekend in light of Mother’s Day. My parents recently moved into a new home, and their poor bookshelves have been quite sparse ever since the big move. My Mom’s request to me this weekend was to help her style her bookshelves, and so we tackled this little project together.

Here are a few details from our mini-makeover…and of course before and after pics are included too!

In short, we started out with a quick trip to Home Goods and Ikea to gather a few accessories

And this is what we started with…

And after a few hours of piecing everything together, here’s what we came up with…

We also snagged a mirror for a mere $35 at Home Goods, but even though we both like the style/scale of it, the silver somewhat blends into the stone so it’s back to the drawing board. But for $35, I couldn’t resist bringing it home and trying it out.

Most of the items on the bookshelves were things my Momma already owned, so this little makeover certainly didn’t break the bank. We simply worked with what she had, and added in a few white frames and accessories where needed.

Lots to catch you up on this week, including a painting mishap – stay-tuned!
