Morning friends! We were blessed with another ridiculously beautiful blue sky weekend in Portland, and seeing the sun never gets old. We’ve had one heck of a pretty summer, and as much as I am excited for Fall, saying goodbye to warm weather is going to be hard. Really, really hard.
Anyway, in light of this incredible weather, we’ve been out and about quite a bit. The other day we visited Stars Antiques in darling Sellwood, and I was once again reminded how much good stuff lives in those shops. I could have loaded up an entire truck full of delightful things, but I resisted as it was just a “scouting” trip. Here are a few of my favorite finds…
For a girl’s bedroom, check out this pink bed frame and coral dresser. Yes please!
And this green chair, for a desk…so perfect!
Old metal items get me every time. This piece could go anywhere – a bedroom, office, living room…wherever storage is needed.
These huge flash cards for a baby’s room or playroom – very vintage! And super cute.
I also stumbled across two killer side tables. Note to self: never buy a new side table. There are so many old ones out there just waiting for a new home.
And lastly, this righteous bar cart. It’s glorious. And huge!
See, so many amazing things in one place – talk about one stop shopping! Old stuff really is legit, and just buying one vintage piece can absolutely make a room feel eclectic and “lived in” and loved.
I’m blaming my silence yesterday on the SFO airport. I swear, whenever I fly outta there, I’m delayed. And delayed again. We had an amaaaazing time in Palm Springs, but getting home after midnight made me super pooped. But I’m back in action today sharing one of my favorite new stores with you.
There are ohhh so many reasons I love Pinterest, but what I love most about it is discovering new etsy sellers and stores. A recent find of mine is Red. This store has so many treats it’s hard to decide what tab I should click on first. I ordered this scarf from the online store, only to find out they have amazing decor pieces, furniture, and gifts too. Not to mention, they have free shipping in all categories on purchases under $200, which is just another reason for me to shop my heart out. Here are a few of my favorite things at Red.
Red’s stuff is just different. It’s cool and fresh and I love that. It’s not overdone or predictable. And most importantly, Red’s customer service is amazing. Now, anyone ever been to Red in person in Texas?! If so, spill the beans!
The good news is that we survived the Barn House Vintage and Antique Marketplace. It was incredible and I promise to post photos this week! We didn’t pick up very many treasures because it’s hard to shop for a home you don’t have yet, but we had a great time looking at all the goodies. Next year, when we hopefully have a new old house, it’s on. Did you guys pick up anything at the marketplace? Do share!
Anyway, a few months ago I came across bemz.com – have you ever heard of it? Me neither. But when I saw this website, I knew I had to share it with you! If you have Ikea furniture, listen up…
Do you own an Ikea dining room chair, a couch, or anything else that can be slipcovered? If so, this website is for you. Select the piece of furniture you have, and then browse through the dozens of slipcovers they offer – different colors, textures and patterns. It’s actually crazy hard to choose a cover because there are so many options. Thankfully, fabric swatches are available, so you can really see what the slipcover might look like in your space before you purchase.
I guarantee you’ll think twice about putting that Ikea couch on Craigslist after checking out Bemz – these slipcovers can give your furniture a second, third, or even fourth life. Better yet, keep these slipcovers in mind if you spot a piece of Ikea furniture for cheap at a summer garage sale – a killer piece could only be a slipcover away.
Okay, friends. Who has ordered from Bemz before? Any favorite fabrics or colors? Do tell!
On Thursday we’ll talk bedding (I need opinions!), but today I’m sharing a few Williams Sonoma Home finds with you. Normally I don’t let myself head upstairs to the home section when I’m in the store (for fear of what I might find/want to buy) but I disobeyed my own rules and stumbled upon some super pretty pieces. Of course the price tags aren’t too wallet-friendly, but a few of these pieces are too lovely not to share!
Floral Boutis Napkin Set
Printed Capri Striped Rug
Francisco Accent Table
Dauphine Floor Lamp
Jensen Black Leather Mirror
Rustic European Picnic Blanket
If wishes were fishes, I’d have not one, but two of those francisco accent tables…so perfect for bedside tables. And the color, in person, is divine!
Happy 4th of July…cheers for freedom, family, and fireworks! I’ll be taking tomorrow off from the blog, but I’ll be back on Thursday. See you then!
