I know I owe you all a farmhouse table update, so this is where we are at…
Let’s talk table legs. I had originally wanted to find old table legs and upcycle them and use them to build our “new” table, but legs are hard to find. Or rather, table legs that we like are difficult to come by. So, we’ve shopped around, and we’ve landed on these new legs from Lowe’s.

They are $19.99 per leg and I plan on seriously roughin’ them up and making them look old. Like really old. Any tricks you guys can offer me in terms of turning new legs into “old” ones?
As for the top of the table, thanks to my wonderful mom-in-law, I’ve located old barn wood for the top of the table. I’m actually outsourcing the table top, and it will look just like this when it’s finished…
Basically, due to time constraints, I’m having the tabletop custom made from barn boards we’ve hand selected and then the rest is up to us!
My biggest decorating dilemma? Should I paint or stain the legs? Better yet, what color should I use? The tabletop will remain untouched, because I love the old barn wood look, but the legs will need a little more attention. Any advice is welcomed and appreciated:)!
Hooray for the weekend!

Get out a chain and hammer and pound the chain against the legs to “rough” them up. I’ve heard of people putting burn marks into them to age them, pounding against quarters on the leg, sheets of metal… lots of different things. It’s going to look awesome!

Can you tell us a little more about where the table goes? I like the rough wooden top but think a painted bottom would be nice. What’s the room like that it is going in?

Janna! Such a good question! I will post my inspiration board next week so you can all get a better feel for what look i’m going for. I just wish projects would do themselves sometimes:).

I was wondering if you could tell me the dimensions of the table legs you found at Lowe’s? They look thicker than the ones I found at my local Lowe’s, so was thinking of ordering them online. I like the look of yours a lot.
Thanks!

Hi! I was wondering how you attached the legs to the table? They fit very flush, it looks great!
