Golf with Dad

I realized the other day that I haven’t posted too many “real  life” photos on here recently, and today we’re going to change that. Even though this blog is about home decor and all things pretty and such, it’s fun to throw people in the mix too. And I have to keep you guys updated on my 30 before 30 list!

A few weekends ago, I went golfing with my family  at Black Butte Ranch and from the looks of this Instagram picture, I was clearly excited to play. Okay, I was also really excited about the golf glove my Dad bought me. I felt really professional:).

I actually used to golf when I was younger, but other sports got in the way as I grew up and I haven’t really played nine holes for quiet a long time. So, I know the rules and how to play, but I had some serious rust going on with my swing and my short game was laughable. But I was on the course, and that’s what counts. It was also important to me to try to incorporate the people I love on my 30 before 30 list, and I thought golf was something that all of us would enjoy doing together. And I was right. I absolutely adored my time outside, being active, with family. Oh yes, and there was sunshine too! It was a really incredible time and made me want to play again.

Oh yes, and my sweet husband came too. He didn’t spend all his time in the sand, I promise.

That’s beautiful Black Butte in the background. Perhaps one of the best views of the evening was when we were driving home. This lovely sunset could be seen from anywhere on the ranch. This place is magical, friends.

I learned a lot golfing that day, but I was also reminded how powerful doing something new can be. When’s the last time you went outside your comfort zone and just tried something? It’s a really fulfilling feeling jumping into uncharted territory, and I once again realized that my 30 before 30 list is pushing me a bit outside my comfort zone…and I’m liking it.

Happy weekend, all!
