I'm a Guest Blogger!
Before Restored Style was even a blog, or even an actual dream of mine, I’d spend hours looking at design blogs (and still do!). I can’t get enough of them. They intoxicate me. Not only do I love decorating and the art of being creative, but I also love seeing people (especially women) go passionately in the direction of their dreams. Anyway, one of the first blogs I bookmarked was Brooklyn Limestone. Mrs. Limestone’s home is truly incredible – it’s been beautifully renovated and decorated with such care. You have to see for yourself.
Anyway, I’ve marveled at Mrs. Limestone for some time now, and that’s why I am so, so excited to be a guest blogger today on her site! I was tickled pink when she asked me a few weeks ago and am so honored to be included amongst all the other fabulous bloggers. To check out my guest post, visit Mrs. Limestone’s blog here.

What an amazing kitchen redo. I’m loving your blog, content and design. Thanks for the materials list too, it’s always nice to discover new paint colors and sources. Reclaimed subway tile. I’m going to have to look into that.
Whoa! Your kitchen is stunning! (Just stopped over from Brooklyn Limestone to say hi!) The yellow accents are so sweet!
Found you through Mrs. Limestone’s blog. I love what you’ve done with the kitchen! So crisp and beautiful. We have a kitchen remodel coming up on our 1895 Victorian– research has begun on how to balance the historical aspects with modern function. You’ve done just that and beautifully
Happy to be a new reader!

Love what you did on Brooklyn Limestone…left a comment there, but not sure if it’s posted, so thought I’d come here to make sure! Very nice kitchen and loving the grey and yellow. I’m new to blogging and if you have any tips for me I’d love to hear! I am still figuring things out…
Cindy
LOVE your kitchen! Very similar to mine right down to the school house lighting! I am curious to see your stove area and whether you did any accent tile as a backsplash or just continued the subway tile. I am planning my backsplash project now.

Nice to ‘meet’ you! I have to say, I think you are giving Mrs. Limestone a run for her money with this kitchen! Gorgeous.
Its about time you got recognized! Don’t forget about the little people on your rise to the top!
hi Found you via Brooklyn Limestone and I must say- LOVE LOVE your kitchen. I have perused your blog and I am so totally bookmarking you. I’ve been toying with the idea of adding gray into my home and love the color you have used. Gray is just a crisp, sophisticated, yummy color and pairing it with yellow just makes it pop!!! thanks for the inspiration!
Dear restored style,
Love your kitchen. In-fact I’m truly in love with you yellow curtains. Can you let me know what pattern & designer your curtains are? Cheers
Stopping over from Brooklyn Limestone. Your kitchen is phenomenal! I am from Chicago so I can’t wait to see what stores you found.
I’m also here from Brooklyn Limestone, and I ADORE your kitchen. It’s totally gorgeous.
I love the clock on the wall above your microwave. Is it from Crate & Barrel? Thanks so much!
Hi Caroline! Thanks for stopping by RS! You have a good eye…the clock is from Crate & Barrel. It’s a great size and super neutral. Happy shopping:)!
I found your blog through Brooklyn Limestone and have loved reading through past posts. I am now following via Google Reader- and can’t wait to see what you’re up to next!

Love the curtain fabric – the space looks fab – good job!
stopped over from bl! your kitchen reno is amazing! nice job and very inspirational.
LOVE this kitchen!
You did a fantastic job with it!
Love your kitchen! Where did you get the little yellow and white striped rug from? I have been looking everywhere for a navy and white one just like it. Beautiful job!
Hi Megan! Thanks for stopping by RS!I got the rug at Cost Plus World Market…and guess what? It was only $5.00! As for the honed granite counters…great question. We chose honed granite because we thought it matched the craftsman, 1920′s feel. With that said, I would not reccomend it. It doesn’t stain and is very, very durable, but unless it’s super clean, you can see water/food marks fairly easily.
oh also… What has been your experience with your honed granite counters so far? Have they been showing alot of spots?
Love, love, LOVE your kitchen! Amazing job! So happy I stopped by from seeing you featured on Brooklyn Limestone!
-Your newest fan!
I love your schoolhouse lighting! It is all beautifully put together.
Hey chica! I had no idea you had a design blog! LOVE it! So fun to read about all your discoveries and projects- your kitchen looks amazing!! We have to have you over to check out our 3 1/2 year crazy remodel/addition since you weren’t able to come to the party! Drop me a note on FB and let me know when might be a good time for you to come over for dinner!
I’m visiting from Brooklyn Limestone and am absolutely in love with this kitchen! I love all the pops of yellow against the more neutral backdrop. Plus, everything looks entirely “liveable,” which makes me love it even more! Nicely done!
I am dying over your kitchen! I love every single detail. Definitely getting added to the inspiration folder!
I am so in love with your kitchen. I posted a link to your beautiful kitchen on my blog- mostly so I never forget it in hope that it can inspire me when I one day redesign my own kitchen. Fabulous job!
What a find…I loved your kitchen redo on Brooklyn Limestone so came by for a look. The yellow and gray are lovely together–and yes, the yellow topped salt shakers would look fabulous in your kitchen. Now I have some linen fabric I’m in love with that is affordable, so I’m doubly pleased. I’d welcome you to stop by my new blog, as well. I’ve been blogging for about six months, but still feel like a newbie. GraciousInteriors.blogspot.com.
I would have never found your blog had it not been for your post on BL! Love what I’m seeing. I’ve seen the yellow/gray pillow before but I can’t seem to remember. Where did you get it?
Your link to the granite isn’t working for me! I’m interested in checking it out as less expensive option to granite counters. I’d appreciate a link! Thanks!
Hi Erica! We ordered the black absolute honed 18 X 26 granite tiles from Portland Direct Tile & Marble. They can be reached at http://www.pdtm.com or 503-230-9500. Thanks:)!

Sure thing! It’s only about 4 feet away:).
Hello! I found your blog via yhl, and have been obsessing over your kitchen curtains ever since. I know you say they are free spirit, but I’m having the hardest time finding them. Do you know specifically what they are called? Thanks!!

Thank you for responding
.. I have a very similar kitchen my refrigerator and island are 3 1/2 feet apart….. Your kitchen is my inspiration. I also don’t have a option for a vent. I read that it hasn’t been a big deal for you.. I will also try to live without one.. Thank you again for responding.
Hi. Love your kitchen! Can you tell me what size tiles you used? Also do you happen to have nay better pictures showing the flooring?
Thanks!
