Master Bedroom Gallery Wall

For whatever reason, I was motivated this weekend to check a few things off our long houseĀ to do list. The rain gave us a good excuse to lay low (or rather, hangout inside) so I conquered our master bedroom gallery wall, painted our second bathroom, and began painting the fireplace. Getting a lot accomplished usually means decent blog content, and I’m happy to report I have a few good posts up my sleeve this week:).

I haven’t showed many photos of our master bedroom, and that’s because we haven’t done too much in this room. We’ve painted the walls, installed new white trim, and that’s about it.

As a reminder, here is where we started….

Amazing wallpaper, right? Ha. After much debate, we painted over the wallpaper. Best decision ever. We used Benjamin Moore’s paper white, and thankfully, you’d never know wallpaper ever existed in this room. The floors were also stained the same color as our kitchen area, so the bones of the room really did get a face lift.

Now, about that gallery wall. Here’s the blank space above our bed that was begging for a little love…

And then I played around with frame placement…

And this is the result…and I actually made our bed:)…

I still need a handful of prints to go in the frames, so this isn’t the final “after” photo, but it’s close. And these days, I’ll take close rather than finished:).

And about that bedding that finally came together…

I’ll have a full post on that later this week. Happy Monday, friends!

The color on walls…does it have a hint of gray. Also, wondering what is your choice for ceiling color. Do you like to go with ceiling white of a BM color like white dove or decorators white.

Karmen/Katelyn – the walls do have a hint of gray/blue. It’s a really soft color, but it’s certainly not white. We love it! As for the ceiling, I always go with Benjamin Moore’s white dove.

Beautiful! I would actually love to know the answer to Karmen’s question about the paint color as well. It looks perfect for that space. Also, have you ever shared your process for creating and updating your house to-do list? I just purchased my first house two weeks ago and am feeling overwhelmed by everything that I want to do and purchase. I’m curious how others manage this process as I know the list is a living, growing thing! Thanks as always for some great content and inspiration.

Hi Katelyn! Congrats on the house:)! This is a great question…let me think about it…I feel like we do things as we have money and inspiration, but I hope there is a bit more method to the madness than that!

sorry to but in – We try to go room by room and in layers… Functional first (in case you want to add outlets and need to cut into walls, things like that), then paint, then furniture, then accessories… Basically pacing ourselves and had a list for each room with those categories to stay focused! Best of luck!

You did a lovely job Kirsten! Where did you buy the lamps, if you don’t mind me asking? They look sturdier that similar lamps I’ve been looking at. We need them.
