Ohhhhh boy do I have a fabulous store to tell you all about today! I stumbled upon this place when I was in search of old barn wood for my table, and let’s just say I found a heck of a lot more than barn wood. Aurora Mills Architectural Salvage has everything under the sun and is certainly worth the drive from PDX. Aurora is located about 25 minutes from Portland, and has a hefty population of 614 (nope, didn’t forget any zeros! Promise!). Oregon is magical in the sense that you can go from city to country in a matter of minutes. Aurora is the perfect example of this. Here, you are amongst farms and wide open spaces, and a number of nifty antique shops, like Aurora Mills.

Need old chair spindles? Check. Period lighting and hardware? Check. Old doors and windows? Check. Vintage signs, bottles and furniture? Check. Beautiful pieces of hundred-year-old wood? Check. This place has antiques galore and just plain cool old junk. Let me clarify junk – it’s very expensive junk, meaning we walked out of this place empty-handed. My mind was on overload, as I was constantly trying to legitimize buying a few items. It didn’t work, and rightfully so. We didn’t really need anything from this wonderful place, and leaving without a treasure just gives me an excuse to head back – soon!

Here’s a few pictures from this little gem of a place…

And guess what I ran across? Four fabulously old legs for the farm house table we are making. Score.

I was in love, but I decided against them because I didn’t think they were large enough for the table. I thought they’d get lost, and these legs need to be the center of attention.

I have many more photos from Aurora Mills, and I’ll post them later this week. I’m having some technical difficulties with PhotoShop (help, Derek!) so I’m going to have to leave you hanging for now. I will say I have quite the week planned for Restored Style…lots of good content coming your way.

Cheers to a great week!
