I SPY! c/dock

When I saw the c/dock, I knew I had to have it. The only problem is, it doesn’t exist yet. Well it exists, but it’s not available for the general public to purchase, or anyone, for that matter. The c/dock is a product design project by two Portland peeps. They are currently in the fundraising stage, and you can help “fund” this project by pledging dollars of support on Kickstarter.com.

The concept is simple. The c/dock is a good-looking, compact, and functional iPod docking station. It comes in two “colors” – solid walnut with either a brushed aluminum or glossy resin face plate. Simply start your clock app of choice, slide your phone into the c/dock,  and let the charging begin! The c/dock can also be used for viewing photos, or as a mini flatscreen.

Isn’t it too cute for words?  Wouldn’t this little number look stellar on a bedside table? If $20,000.00 is pledged by August 19th, they are in business. With 38 days of fundraising to go, the c/dock still needs more than $18,000.00. Goooo c/dock – I’m cheering for you!

Spotted! Pretty Pendant Light

Morning!

I must admit, my brain still feels like it’s in the woods. We went camping with Kyle’s family this weekend, and it was a kick. Our weekend was full of family, fishing, campfires, food (homemade fish tacos!), sunshine, and my personal favorite, sleeping under the stars. Oregon’s beauty never ceases to amaze me and neither does my wonderful family. I love you, Nieman clan! I’ll share a few pictures later this week, promise.

Okay, back to business. While searching for the perfect light for our farmhouse table, I stumbled across a lovely light fixture on Overstock.com for a killer price, and I couldn’t resist sharing it with you. It’s only $95.99 and this light bronze/cream pendant fixture just sparkles!

It’s classy, yet not overdone or gaudy. It’s not the right fit for our farmhouse table, but I’m hoping one of you can nab this little number, as it’s priced too good to pass up. And with Overstock’s $2.95 shipping, you really can’t beat this deal.

Cheers to a great week!

Quick Change! From black to white…

This weekend my soul felt alive. We had our first blue sky and WARM weekend day of 2011 and it’s amazing what sunshine can do to your spirit. It’s supposed to rain tomorrow, but I can handle rain during the week, if it’s sunny on the weekends. In short, we visited the farmer’s market, read magazines in the sun (or rather, Kyle mowed the lawn while I caught up on a huge stack of magazines I’ve been meaning to tackle), made iced coffees, barbecued, had a few fun visitors (which I’ll blog about later this week!) and I’m actually caught up on house chores, which will last about 18 hours when I’m sure I’ll fall behind again.

I also managed to finish up a project I’ve been meaning to share with you guys…remember our hutch in our kitchen area? I transformed it from black to white. It’s antique white now and I think I like it. It lightens up the room and gives it more room to breathe.

Of course, with a new paint color, I felt like I had to switch out a few items on the hutch. I didn’t buy anything for this quick re-do, I just grabbed a few things I had in other rooms and did a little switcher-roo.

I’m on a white paint terror…what furniture item is next?

Cheers to a great week!
