A Few Housekeeping Items

Apologies, friends! My blog posts last week were not very plentiful, but this week will be different. Promise! I was distracted by a number of things, including this beautiful baby…

Meet Mackenzie.  She’s my dear cousin’s itty bitty 3 month old baby. They live in L.A. and I don’t get to see them very often. I just couldn’t get enough of both of them last week and I had a to snap a few photos of their cuteness.

Aren’t they precious?

Anyway, back to blog biznass. Thanks to my wonderful web programmer, Restored Style has a few newfeatures. I’ve officially added an advertising button and I have a new commenting section that’s waaaaay better. There’s more categories, more fun blogs in the “Must Reads” section and a few other small tweaks here and there. It’s certainly an organic process, and I’m sure there will be a few more changes, but for the most part, I think I’m caught up on website updates for now:).

Now, this is what I’m actually posting about today….FREE PRINTS! While perusing In the Little Yellow House, I ran across this lovely site, Vintage Printable. Essentially, it’s an entire website full of images that are old enough to have become public domain. The site isn’t very sleek looking, but don’t let that fool you. It has oodles of wonderful images, and with a good printer, you can create dirt cheap artwork. And very cool artwork at that!

Alissa over at In the Little Yellow House selected some totally killer images, printed them out, and had them framed. They look great, and did I mention they were FREE? Can’t beat that price.

Happy print shopping and President’s Day to you.

Spotted! Metal Counter Stools

This is a big week on Restored Style…my posts were few and far between last week because I was gearing up for this week. And here we are! Tomorrow, hi, friend and I have a special gift lined up for our readers, and Wednesday I’m unveiling my sponsored Pier One tablescape. Fun times ahead…

Anyway, today I’m introducing an additional monthly feature: meet ”Spotted!”. You know when you “spot” something you love, but conveniently it’s hundreds of dollars above your price range? It happens to me all too often. Begining today, I’ll be featuring replicas of spendy pieces for cheap. Happy to have you join us, Spotted!

Every single time I get a Sundance catalog in the mail, I’m drawn to these these mid century studio stools, featured here and shown below. At $245.00 a pop, they are waaaay out of my price range, but truly heavenly.

I did some searching, and I’m happy to report that I found nearly identical stools on Overstock.com. They are only $89.00 for a set of TWO! I couldn’t believe my eyes…and they look so incredibly similar.

Click here for more details on these look-alike stools. And, I thought I would mention that they carry them in black too. Love the options AND the price.

Happy Monday and keep your eyes peeled for more Spotted! features…

Summer Weekends + Three Potato Four

Ohhhh weekends, aren’t they grand? The million dollar question is…where do they go? I feel like I blink and they are over. In an instant.

What did we do? A lot of barbecuing (think steak), some shrub transplanting (even worse than it sounds) and a berry picking outing with my little niece and nephew (even more fun than it sounds).

And last but not least, I had a wonderful backyard coffee date with a dear friend who mentioned I should check out Three Potato Four. And so I quickly drove home and immediately started stalking the online store. I feel like I’m mourning the fact that I am just now learning about this wonderful creation. Seriously, you must go and look at their online store right now. Like right now.

Here’s a glimpse of a few of my favorite things…
