I couldn’t decide on what the heck I was going to write about today, so this post is going to be all over the place. Apologies in advance.
Meet my new little “penguino”. My dear friend Anne brought him back all the way from Argentina for me and I am so thankful for my new little creature. Isn’t he cute?
The pitcher is made for table wine, but can obviously be used for creamer or even gravy. That’s besides the point. He’s just too cute to be put in the cupboards, so he’s making his way around the house.
Remember this dresser? I sanded it this weekend. Nothing too serious. The dresser is old, but the wood is low somewhat low quality, so I fear I must paint it. Can I go outside my comfort zone and do something besides white?!
Lastly, I got busy with metallic spray paint on Sunday and an old map. Here’s a few photos of the mini project. I will surely post more about it later this week…it’s a “spruce up” the basement project.
See, I went from a penguin pitcher to framed maps – chaos. Happy Tuesday!

I’m not sure what look you’re going for, but apparently a great paint to use on furniture is called Annie Sloan’s (sp?)Chalk Paint (not like chalk board paint, different). With it you don’t have to do any priming. NO PRIMING!!! But I know most of the people who use it are going for a more distressed look on their pieces since it sands really wells. But it’s hecka expensive, like $30 for a quart. But also supposedly lasts a long time. Personally I haven’t been able to bring myself to spend money on it yet since I only have one thing I want to paint, but one of these days I will…

I like the idea about the chalk paint. I have seen others do it and it looks great. Love your shirt too. Have the same one form JCrew!

I love the framed map collection! That might be a great idea for my stairwell wall since I’ve got tons of maps and old frames. Thanks for the inspiration and have a great weekend.
